Circus Educators

Here are some ways that our members have found to develop their careers as circus educators:

Look for internships and opportunities with existing youth circuses.  Here are some of the circuses we know are often looking for staff:

  • Circus Minimus: kevin@circusminimus.com
  • Circus Harmony: circuslady@circusharmony.org
  • Circesteem: maribethjoy@circesteem.org

The National Circus School of Canada in Montreal offers two specialized programs: Instructor in Circus Arts and Trainer in Circus Arts. The aim is to prepare teaching professionals versed in the circus arts able to provide high quality, safety-conscious training from introductory to advanced levels. Both programs lead to a college diploma: Attestation of Collegial Studies (AEC – Attestation d’études collégiales) accredited by the Quebec Ministry of Education. They were developed by NCS with the collaboration of Cirque du Soleil. More information

Attend Cirque du Monde’s Social Circus training.  Sponsored by Cirque du Soleil, this training helps educators to understand the particular requirements of working with youth at risk in the circus world. For more information contact (tbd)
